Is AI Good or Bad?
Is AI good for learning or is it bad? That is a question that is being asked more frequently in recent times. AI can be used in ways that are good for learning but at the same time it can without a doubt be used in ways that hinder learning. If you depend on AI to do all your school work or all your problem solving, then there is not going to be much learning at all.
Your brain needs to be engaged in making meaning and sense out of what you are trying to learn. Your brain needs to be involved in the process. If you just ask AI to give you the answer to a question without even giving it thought, you will not learn. Sometimes it is the struggle you experience when trying to solve a problem or learn something that pushes you to become a better thinker or a better student or a better person. Without that struggle we can become lazy and the results can have many negative effects on the individual and on society.
I asked AI if AI was good or bad for learning. It answered, AI is neither purely good nor bad for learning — it changes how people learn, and the effects depend on how it’s used.
I suppose AI can help us save time that could allow us to work on more serious and interesting things. Regardless, AI is here to stay and it is only going to get bigger and more involved in everyone’s life. We need to find ways to collaborate with AI that we can help advance us as learners and human beings so that can make the world a better and more peaceful place.

AIは味方か？ 敵か？
AIは学びを助ける？ それとも足をひっぱる？ これは最近よく耳にする問題です。AIは学習に役立つ使い方もできますが、同時にその妨げになること
も。学校の課題や問題解決をすべてAIに任せ切りにしてしまうと、ほとんど何も身につかないことになるでしょう。
学ぼうとしていることの意味や本質を理解するためには、脳を働かせる必要があります。学習プロセスには脳が関わらなくてはならないのです。考えることをせずAIに答えを求めるだけでは、何も身につきません。問題を解決したり何かを学ぼうとしたりして懸命に努力するからこそ、より深く考える人、よりよい学習者、より優れた人間性をもった人へと成長できるのです。そういう努力をしなければ人は怠惰になり、個人にも社会にも悪影響をもたらすことになるでしょう。
AIに、「AIは学習にとって良いのか悪いのか」と尋ねてみました。答えはこうでした。「AIは単純に良いものでも悪いものでもなく、人々の学び方を変えるものです。その効果は使い方次第です。」
AIを賢く使えば私たちに時間を節約でき、より重要で興味深いことに取り組むことができるのだと思います。いずれにせよ、AIは今後も存在し、成長し続け、私たちの生活にますます深く関わってくることになるでしょう。私たちが学習者として、また人間として成長して、より良い平和な世界を築いていけるように、AIと協調する方法を見つけたいものですね。
