My Father
Every day is Father’s Day. Every day we are given the opportunity to love, accept, thank and support our fathers. I wrote this year’s English Carnival about my father—he was a man who loved chocolate, who saw the world in a different way from most people, who was funny, and he believed in magic and he loved his family. I loved performing the role of Grandpa in this show in 2009–the same year my father passed away. But he lives in my heart everyday. Happy Father’s Day every day.
日本で父と過ごした日々
毎日が父の日です。私たちには、毎日父親を愛し、受け入れ、感謝し、支える機会があるのですから。今年のイングリッシュ・カーニバルは、私の父に捧げて台本を書きました。父は、チョコレートが好きで、ほかの人とは違う方法で世の中を見ていて、楽しい性格で、魔法、愛、家族を信じていました。初演で私がおじいさん役を演じた2009年に父は亡くなったのですが、いまでも父は私の心の中にいます。毎日が幸せな父の日でありますように。
